DUTCH COURT WATCHER LAUNCHED WEBSITE
If justice is not being served…
The Dutch court watcher Paul Ruijs launched his website Court Watch; Let’s make things clear today. The site is in Dutch only.
Anyone can share his or her experiences with the Dutch judicial system whether it concerns judges, attorneys (lawyers) or civil law notaries. Thus his ‘court watch’ is somewhat broader than U.S. court watchers who attend a court and make observations regarding the general conduct of those in the court system from judges all the way down to the administration staff.
The complaints may concern a.o. attitude, (lack of) professional knowledge, billing issues, integrity, attention (does the professional really care about his client) and how they deal with conflicts.
Any civilized society needs a system of checks and balances as well as individual citizens who respect the law but are willing and able to ask questions and to discuss what they believe are injustices. It is in the response that society shows its true nature.
