The will of the people?

Politicians are usually depicted as unreliable. And that is not without reason. But at least as big a problem are the voters in a democracy. Voters come literally in all shapes and sizes. This diversity is in itself well and good. Diversity can keep us morally tight and ensures that along with their own qualities people can bring something about in society that would otherwise not be possible. NEW BOARD CURACAO BAR ASSOCIATION

Annual meeting held on 11 December 2012

In the Annual Meeting of the Curacao Bar Association on 11 December a new Board has been elected.

The Board of the Curacao Bar Association now consists of:

Caroline Fiévez – President

Everett Wilsoe – Vice-President

Emile Huizing – Secretary

Reagan Celestijn – Treasurer

Paul van de Laarschot (Vice-President), Nerissa Romero (Secretary) and Glenn Camelia (Treasurer) were not available for re-election. The term of Karel Frielink, who has been the President of the Association for four years, ended this month.

NEW PRESIDENT CURACAO BAR ASSOCIATION

Meeting held on 12 December 2008

At the Curacao Bar Association’s annual meeting, Karel Frielink (Spigthoff) was formally elected to serve as President of the Curacao Bar Association for a two year-term. He is the successor of Eric de Vries (HBN Law).

Eric Bokkes (Bokkes Fontein Advocaten), Daniel Zahavi (ZL Law) and Chester Peterson (Sulvaran & Peterson) have been re-elected as board member of the Curacao Bar Association: Peterson as Vice-President, Bokkes as Treasurer and Zahavi as Secretary.

Frielink started practicing as an attorney in 1989 in Amsterdam, but moved to Curacao in 1997. He is a partner with Spigthoff …
